Accessories and bags label Angel Jackson’s design duo, Katie and Millie Smith, share their Bali secrets.
Milie and I just got back from Balinese new year it was beautiful! Back to earth with a bump!
Our Ideas For The Evening:
Best Restaurants And Hang-outs
Sarong – very glamourous high end asian fusion… a real treat – our favourite place to eat! The BEST cocktails
La Lucciola – on the beach, fairy lights lit high-end italian, also gorgeous cocktails and very romantic
Kaizan – Korean/Japanese food – really good korean bbq and sushi, the best place to sit is upstairs, very cool
Ku De Ta – brilliant music (slightly biased as Millie’s husband is resident DJ!), great bar food (sushi, gyoza’s, pizza) and fine dining a definite must… brilliant for sunset cocktails and sounds on the beach
Potato Head Beach Bar – amazing music (yes he’s a resident there too!), this is the place to be seen out in Bali at the moment (Paris Hilton was recently spotted running around with her friends!). Also great food
Best Bars And Beach Parties
La Plancha – on the beach between Double Six and Dyana Pura. Really good Spanish tapas, great for sunsets and fantastic all night parties every other Friday on the sand (over 1,000 people dancing!)
La Barca, Batu Belig Beach – same owners as La Plancha and alternates Friday parties as above! On the same stretch of beach as Warung Pantai, Cozy Wheels and Karma Batu Belig, all of which are just the coolest places to drink and have fun!
Our Ideas For Where to Sleep:
W Hotel, Seminyak (Paris Hilton has just stayed here)
Karma Kandara, Uluwatu (Jennifer Lopez has stayed here)
The Island, Legian
And For When You Wake Up:
Word of Mouth concept store, Jl Kunti, Seminyak. It is Italian/Indian owned and everything from the food to the cutlery is beautifully designed and presented. A very cool place to hang out.. also does great cocktails in the evening
Corner Store, Jl Oberoi, Seminyak (also sell clothes)
Zucchini, Jl Oberoi, Seminyak
Grocer and Grind, Jl Oberoi, Seminyak (also a deli)
Papa and Mie, Jl Nakula, Legian. They do the BEST Nasi Goreng (Fried rice with vegetables) and an average meal is about £1 per head!
Cafe Ocha, Jl Legian, Legian. They do brilliant Nasi Campur (rice with a selection of different fried foods which you choose from counter) and their english breakfast is ridiculously good value and delicious
Warung Pantai, Pantai Batu Belig, Seminyak. They do a really good seafood curry with loads of prawns, also brilliant fish and chips. It’s right on the beach and is great for sunsets with friends/kids
