Chef Georgia Cummings makes the most delicious brownies in the world. She’s inspired by her super chic grandmother who feels like she’s going to fall backwards without heels on and modelled a series of adorable summer dresses for us..

If you had to list 3 must have items in your wardrobe what would they be?

A navy jumper I bought from The White Company 4 years ago and wear every other day. Their clothes seem to be getting more and more beautiful, I also just bought a few pieces from their new Summer collection. Good underwear and a pair of tailored trousers (I’ve recently converted from jeans).

Can you remember your first item of clothing that made you feel like a grown up? What was it?

My first handbag, a gift last year from my brother. It’s a beautiful tan, saddle leather Ralph Lauren bag from Bicester Village.

Do you have any major style faux pas?

Yes, every time my dad asks me to explain my outfit I know I’ve got it wrong.

Is there a piece of clothing you’ve always wanted to own? Why?

A tailored two-piece suit because it would last a life time.

Would you say you are a shoes or bag girl?

No idea.

Do you have an all time favourite style purchase?

A mini-dress given to me by my grandmother. It’s fluorescent pink and gold checked with long sleeves and a high neck.

Renaissance woman Emerald does bestselling children’s books, movie starring, and is an all-round gorgeous lady. She also looks totally inspirational in a red jumpsuit and lipstick (both of which might have been bought immediately after seeing her). We met up to discuss the precise height a heel becomes a car-only option, as well as a mutual love of the one and only Dolly Parton.

If you had to list 3 must have items in your wardrobe what would they be?

A white, silk shirt. A Coco Fennell dress and a pair of Adidas Gazelles.

Can you remember your first item of clothing that made you feel like a
grown up? What was it?

When I was about 12 my mother let me borrow a pair black, velvet Patrick Cox shoes to wear to a party. I felt super swanky and grown up, although they were a bit big and I had to scrape along in them in quite an ungainly way, so the reality was probably less sophisticated than I imagined.

Do you have any major style faux pas?

Where to start? For the millenium I wore a glittery sequin boob tube with pleather trousers which I bought from Miss Selfridge with my saved-up pocket money. I was thirteen, with braces, and thought I looked like Gwen Stefani: the photographs tell a rather more damning tale. There was also a particularly tragic pair of multi-coloured,
striped, lace up flares, which I’m sorry to say had a matching baker-boy cap. The late-noughties were pretty much a write-off too, due to my fondness for shiny leggings which I wore with an array of aggressively unflattering smocks and made me look like a chicken.

Is there an piece of clothing you’ve always wanted to own? Why?

Anything that Dolly Parton wears. I adore her. A lot of fringing and rhinestones. I feel like I’m a cowgirl at heart. I’ve always had a hankering for a Barbara Cartland-style pink, marabou dressing gown.

Would you say you are a shoes or bag girl?

Absolutely shoes.

Do you have an all time favourite style purchase?

A Dolce and Gabbana black cocktail dress which has had many an outing and I always feel happy and comfortable in. If I won the lottery I think I would live in their clothes.

Fashion editor Amanda Woodward-Brown feels like summer personified! Just talking to her makes us think of beaches and glorious sunshine. Being six months pregnant didn’t slow her down one bit either… That’s it. We want a holiday!

If you had to list 3 must have items in your wardrobe what would they be?

A cashmere boyfriend sweater – it looks just as chic paired with distressed denim as with a pencil skirt. A trench –  you always need a cover-up in London and it’s a style that will never date. I invested in a classic Burberry a few years ago and it always makes me feel instantly pulled together. A pleated skirt. They are my sartorial weakness. Short or long I can’t resist buying them. My current favourites are a silver-coated midi style and an A-line, laser-cut, tiered design made from a black material that looks a little like plastic. They are the one piece I really miss wearing and can’t wait to get back into post-pregnancy.

Can you remember your first item of clothing that made you feel like a grown up?

A vintage black shift dress that I bought when I was 21 and starting out in fashion magazines. I used to wear it with sky-high Balenciaga heels that I doubt I could even walk in now!

Do you have any major style faux pas?

I don’t have any particular fashion faux pas, as what looks amazing on one person can look terrible on another. However I would say never follow a trend for the sake of it. Dressing to suit your shape and your style is far more important than buying into a passing look.

Is there an piece of clothing you’ve always wanted to own? Why?

A Valentino couture dress. I love Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s modern but ultra-feminine designs. They are breathtakingly beautiful. I wouldn’t even want to wear it, just hang it somewhere where I can look at it everyday.

Would you say you are a shoes or bag girl?

Shoes! A statement flat or heel can instantly dress up even the simplest look. I tend to dress in quite pared-back pieces but I love crazy heels. Although with a toddler to chase after, you will usually find me in flats these days.

Do you have an all time favourite style purchase?

My Charlotte Olympia nude satin heels that I wore for my wedding. I love how the ladylike shape is given a witty twist with mesh and raffia pom poms. They are ridiculously high and I very rarely get a chance to wear them but I will never part with them.

With guest season well and truly upon us, we asked Michelle aka the utterly gorgeous RetroChicMama to style a party frock up and then down for a more relaxed look, because as she says, after the wedding you want to be able to wear the dress again and again don’t you?
If you had to list 3 must have items in your wardrobe what would they be?
A great fitting plain white shirt. Most flattering cut of high quality jeans, mine are J Brand. A neutral cashmere cardigan.

Can you remember your first item of clothing that made you feel like a grown up? What was it?

This is easy – I had a little weekend job in a hairdressing salon when I was 13 that paid $15 a week. I save up for months to buy a pair of white strappy sandals. It was my first ever fashion purchase with my own money so when I wore hem I felt grown up because I paid with money I’d earned.

Do you have any major style faux pas?
Obviously I had many MAJOR style faux pas, I was night clubbing in the late 80’s!!! Let’s see there were the Madonna fingerless black lace gloves, Frankie says relax fluoro over-sized T-shirt paired with the ubiquitous Tube skirt outfit – Need I say more?
Is there an piece of clothing you’ve always wanted to own? Why?
I’ve always wanted to own a Chanel Le Boy bag because I love bags & to me this is the Holy Grail of bags.

Would you say you are a shoes or bag girl?
Hahaha see above! Bags of course although shoes are a very close second, in fact I’m currently having a book case fitted in my new loft bedroom to display my shoes. Poor hubby.
Do you have an all time favourite style purchase?
To date my all time fave purchase is most definitely my Chanel 2.55 mini – However as it’s my big 50 next year I’m hoping the bag fairy will send me that Le Boy I dream of…

Financier Aita Ighodaro conducts business regularly across two or more continents so she really needs a wardrobe that will travel well. Wecaught up with her as she dashed through London to find a feminine style that isn’t too girly but yet utterly practical. Clue: it’s all about the magic dress that never creases.

If you had to list 3 must have items in your wardrobe what would they be?

Colourful bikinis. I work hard, but I love the sunshine and it energises me, so I try to get as much of it as possible!
Belted coats and trenches – when I can’t be in the sun I like a cover up with a cinched in waist, I find it a timeless and feminine look but it’s not ‘girly’.
A large handbag as I carry so much around with me and nearly always have my laptop amongst other things. At the moment I love a vintage Louis Vuitton epi leather one I found in a market in Saint Tropez.

Can you remember your first item of clothing that made you feel like a grown up? What was it?

I think it was my first pair of skin tight jeans when I was about 11 or 12. I remember feeling quite foxy and pleased with myself. They were probably a stretch Topshop pair or something like that.

Do you have any major style faux pas?

I’ve had some fairly experimental hairdos throughout the years….

Is there an piece of clothing you’ve always wanted to own? Why?

Elizabeth Taylor’s entire jewellery collection would be nice!

Would you say you are a shoes or bag girl?

I definitely have a lot more shoes than bags…

Do you have an all time favourite style purchase?

A silk shirt seems appropriate for almost any occasion
